Premium Pen Blanks Sourced from Central America and Mexico, Zircote is a sustainable wood with a unique “spider-webbing” or “landscape” grain figure. Appearance is a chocolate brown, sometimes with either a green or purple hue. Reported to be naturally resistant to decay, Ziricote turns and finishes well. It glues well in most cases, though on rare occasions, Zircote’s natural oils can interfere. Mild, characteristic scent when being worked, somewhat similar to that of Pau Ferro (Bolivian Rosewood) Ziricote is a truly unique-looking wood.
